Live music in the heart of Atlanta! I Am a Rocketship will be playing at underground Atlanta. The Downtown Festival began in May 2002 in the “Fairlie-Poplar” neighborhood of Downtown. Over the years the Festival has been located in Woodruff Park, at Marietta and Broad street, on Porter Place at W. Peachtree and now we’re joining our friends in Underground Atlanta to once again welcome you into our thriving Downtown!
Destruction and melody, acid wit and bruising vocals-this is the Pack A.D. Singer/guitarist Becky Black and drummer Maya Miller have made a sound so gigantic, so fierce and raw and empowering, that it's easy to forget there are just two people behind this brilliant, carefully constructed havoc. Shredding and pounding their way through every song, the Pack A.D. swallows you whole inside their fearless Franken-blend of heavy psychpop/garage-rock. Their lyrics are wild nests, human and complex: darkly funny disclosures about depression; indictments of digital excess; grief-stricken fire bombs; sly crusades against stupidity.

We will be trying our first Facebook Live event, playing about 45 minutes of music from our first two albums and premiering some from our upcoming release, Ghost Stories. Put on your pajamas, pour yourself a drink, and ask us questions. We hope our friends in the UK and EU can join us for this early (in the US) time, but we'll try to record it as well. This is new to us, so who knows how it will go?
What happens when you mix a Fench-American electropop combo, an indie electro-folk duo from the Netherlands, a Swedish-American trip-rock duo, and a genre-bending quartet from Griffin?
